I was never worried in the first place. WVU ain't going to let anyone in The BEast down. I expect them to roll through the season, and smash Pitt along the way...

If West Virginia or South Florida run the tables and go 12-0, no one wll be talking about the "weak' Big East because along the way they would have takencare of ranked teams like Kansas and Auburn.

We shall see what happens but I see those two as the best teams in big east.
cincy can make it with a win or close game vs Oklahoma this week uconn must win ALl their OCC since they dont play anyone ranked.

I figure both WVU and USF can go 11-0. WVU will, but USF ain't going to make 12-0. And they better not half step against UC, or they won't make 11-0...

We shall see who gets therre undefeated.

Totally disagree. If the conference as a whole doesn't show well then the chances of a team making the national championship game go down considerably. The Big East needs to do well OOC in order to make the SOS good for all the conference teams. If Pitt does well in conference this year it makes everyone else look bad.

But you're wrong there. If WVU goes unbeaten with victories over Auburn of the SEC (especially if they win the SEC), Colorado out of the Big XII, ECU, USF, and UC (especially if they beat the Sooners), should get the Mountaineers a BCS Championship game bid. If we beat the champions of the best football conference in America (hands down) that should do it.

Hate to be a downer, but I just don't see either the Eers or the Bulls getting to that game undefeated. You both might only have one loss, but both teams will at least have one loss.

So does the BE get worse press then the ACC this weekend if WVU and USF lose to ECU and UCF, respectively? It is not out the realm of reality, because both games are on the road. Right?

If USF loses to UCF who may not be nearly as decent as last season, the BE deserves to be lambasted. But ECU will have its hands very full this weekend with a healthy dose of Pat White and Noel Devine. I know that after the upset of VT, WV is paying more than the usual attention to ECU, who usually play the Eers very tough.

Actually, I think the Mountaineers may be paying more attention to Hanna than they are to the Pirates...

I seem to remember you saying something similar to that last year, even basically writing your ticket to the titel game, then Wanny went in to Morgantown and pulled out the upset.

I found the avatar on a website a while back, but I can't remember where it was. BTW, I think that the homefield advantage might give the Pirates that little extra boost that they need to get over WVU, but no one would be shocked if WVU won the game. After watching Oregon beat USF in the Sun Bowl, I kind of think that UCF can beat USF if they are able to get their running game going. In any event it is beginning to look like some of these games might get cancelled, because Hanna is nearing the southeast and Ike was just upgraded to a hurricane.

It's about time somebody started talkin' some good natured smack on this board. It makes it fun if you take it worth a grain of salt. It's even better when the talk doesn't get buried on the other board. I applaud your thoughts about the Eers. Have fun with it. I'd do the same thing if we could win a darn game. It's all in good fun. I like all, well most of the BEast teams, no matter what I say about them.
