WVU/Marshall football game has its official nickname.....
straight from the Gov's office....

http://www.dailymail.com/news/News/2006062129/

-- Wow that is lame IMO.....Its good to know that everyone in state has a friend in coal...except for the miners that is

* The coal bowl between WVU/Marshall should not be confused with the Black Diamond Trophy which exists between WVU/VA Tech

King Joe is trying to lay his stamp on everything he can. It's how to get votes among the moron majority. Intelligent folks are in the minority.

It reminds me of a story about Harry Truman's Whistle Stop Tour. He stopped his train somewhere in the midwest, and during his speech a lady interrupted him with a shout of, "all intelligent Americans are behind you, Harry!"

Truman said, "I realize that madam, but we need a majority."

Man, corporate logo on both team's helmet? Talk about lame, I think you guys are setting a dangerous precedent there. I hadn't even given helmets any thought in my head as far as advertising space but I'm sure you'll be opening an ugly Pandora's Box.

I think you misread...

"In return, the association will have its Friends of Coal emblem featured with each team's helmet in the game logo."

The GAME LOGO will feature the emblem and each team's helmet. It doesn't say anything about the emblem or logo being on the helmet.

I'm sure that the game logo will be on t-shirts sold at the game and might appear on the field.

OU-Texas have been doing this for years. SBC, Dr. Pepper and AT&T have all been past sponsors of the Red River Shootout (it was recently changed to Red River Rivalry).

The Friends of Coal Bowl

I was once a 'Friend of Coal'... I still can't believe we have to play these clowns.

Coal Bowl, Skoal Bowl, Hillbilly Bowl, WV Bowl, Bituminous Bowl, Mountain State Bowl, ...but in the end it will be Kick moou's ass Bowl
