Congrats to ECU's victory over Memphis, but this year I believe that WVU will hang 400 + rushing yards and 50 + points on the Pirates. It's only been two years since Kay Jay Harris ran for 330 + at ECU. Navy was 70/403 two weeks ago. I don't see ECU stopping the Mountaineers, however the WVU secondary appears vulnerable. If any one beats them they will have to out score them. I don't think any team can stop their offense.
Go Mountaineers.
That was a COMPLETELY different West Virginia team then the one that is playing now. Even a completely different team from the ECU game to the Louisville game. Superior personnel, mental and physical toughness and team speed. The coaching has improved dramatically as well.
Well FTR ECU '05 and WVU '05 are different from their '06 versions. We played WVU real tough last year and the game was what... 5 point loss @ WVU (?). Now this year it is a home game for the Pirates... wich schould make it as close. It ought to be a good game. While I think WVU will probabbly win it.... ECU still has a shot to win or make it real close.
OMG I can't wait. DF better be SOLD OUT!!!
WV will beat ECU by at least 3 touchdowns. Cut and paste this post. You beat WV by 5 at Mountaineer Field. WV beat SU by 7 at the Carrier Dome. Look how our season ended last year. It means absolutely nothing that you lost a close game.
You meant to type that West Virginia beat East Carolina by 5 last year, of course, not the other way around. As many have already pointed out, though, that was before the Mountaineers inserted Slaton and White into the line-up. Since those two broke through that team has been lights out.
We all know that Pirates fans are fiercely proud of their team and no one expects them to be like "we are going to get our purple butts blasted" or anything but, come on, repeatedly saying it will be close or your team will have a shot to win will not fly here. Just say you hope it is a good game.

You're talking about a completely different level of difference between West Virginia last year and West Virginia this year. ECU hasn't come CLOSE to improving to that level. I compare it to UC almost beating then-soon to be national champions Ohio State, losing to them by 4, and then playing them later and losing be 21. Just because you played a team tough doesn't mean anything. West Virginia is a machine, and they're going to carve up East Carolina.

If WVU plays the way they did in the first quarter against Maryland, nobody will come close to staying with them. I mean nobody.

He didn't have the same role that he has now.

Couple of points about the game....
A) ECU played WVU at the perfect time last yr. I remember a lot of fans were picking WVU to lose that game becasuse were it fell on the schedule. WVU played ECU the week after an emotional win @ Maryland and the week before the last game (maybe ever) with Va Tech. ECU certainly is a traditional game for the Mountys, but is nothing compared with the two games mentioned above. A lot of fans/players were already looking forward to and answering questions about Va Tech before the ECU game had been played. In other words I think we were looking ahead a little, and were very lucky to come out a winner. ECU pretty much dominated the 4th quarter last yr
B) If Navy can run on ECU, WVU can run on ECU.

This is going to be a great challenge for ECU. I'm glad we will get to play against one of the nations best football teams. It will be a great learning experience for us.

Fact, maybe more...huge contingent of Mountaineers in that area...arrrgghhh
The official allotment of 5,000 tickets to WVU has been sold out. This game will be a sellout. Thanks Mountaineers. Should be more fun than last time you came. Rich R could've scored 90 but held it to 48 or so. I don't expect that much this time but more like a 38-17 type game that's broken open late. The goal of ECU will be to hang around and keep the crowd in it. We might have a shot.

I'll agree on the running game part ...ECU has held down teh big run plays ... i.e. you get yards but not necessarily points of big runs. And ECU finally got its feeble running game going last week although from what I gather the Memphis DL wasn't all that ..but at least we did something in the running game. Our passing game is our strength and it showed why last week. I just hope JP doesn't get sacked to much.
