Pitt's DL goes about 270. MSU's OL goes about 310. Not suprisingly Pitt's D wore down as the game went on. We owned the first quarter and they owned the second half. Hardly laying down.

To add to Shannon's point, what right does the fan of a team that loses by 30 have to rag on the team that beat us by 18 the prior week?
We were perhaps the biggest offender regarding today's early futility. And it doesn't really matter if it was "expected". Apologies to the league, and we'll try to keep up the success vs. the ACC next week.

Highly disappointed in my Huskies today - were at home with an extra week to prepare for Wake and shot ourselves in the foot. We seem to be a team now that has zero margin for error and pay for every mistake we make - turnovers, 3+ years now of our senior kicker botching easy FGs and PATs that change the complexion of football games. Frustrating.
Either Wake is better than advertised or UConn is worse. I hope we bounce back next week at Indiana.
Nice job this weekend by Louisville, Syracuse, WVU, Rutgers and USF. Cincy ran into a buzzsaw today and Pitt - ouch!

Amen. Until UC can shoulder their share of the burden of Big East success we shoudn't point out the faults of another program. Our program currently has more than enough faults to occupy our time as has been proven in the last two games.

I thought Pitt was a lot better until today. UofL's O-Line starting 5 avg. 307 according to what they list currently, so I expect UofL will be able to push them around somewhat as well when we play later in the year.
Good efforts today (or Thursday) for the 5 winners, plus UC hung tough for a while and no one expected to win. Especially to Cuse, I know Illinois is bad but nice way to get a much needed W and beat a team you should.
UConn and Pitt really crapped the bed today, and both at home. MSU is decent, but Pitt wasn't even in the game.
As for Wake, please cut the BS, they are a weak team. Any decent club would just whip them right now. Good teams do not beat Duke by 1.

For the first group of games, it looks like the Be is going to go 2-3 including WV game . We have to wish for Louisville, USF and Rutgers to all go undefeated.
Bad day for the BE.
I expected Wake Forest to go bowling this season, before they lost their starting QB. Let it be known ... Wake Forest's head coach... Jim Grobe... is one HELL of a head coach. If he was somewhere with deep resources, he'd field a powerhouse. He has basically made somebody with resources on par with Duke... and history much WORSE than Duke... and made them a bowl challenger in one of the toughest conferences (usually) in America. That's impressive.
Wake's scheme is wishbone-esk .... lots of misdirection... lots of running. Heavy use of TE and FB and the QB as a RB. So the QB in their scheme *shouldn't* matter... but the Duke game made me lose faith in the Deacs. However, they impressed me today.
I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but we gave this damn game today. Lets see:
1. UCONN threw a TD at Wake 10 yard that led to a TD for Wake
2. UCONN missed an extra point.
3. UCONN missed a field goal
4. UCONN fumbled on the Wake 25 yards line
Our D came to play. our young offense made so many dumb mistakes against an ok Wake team. Our D stopped Wake all day long and did not give up any big plays but our O really made key mistakes at key parts of the game. A very bad loss for UCONN against a team we should have beat.
Thank god for the CARDS. They are taking Miami to the woodshed right now.
You forgot UConn going for it on 4th down from their own 6 yard line, after Hernandez had already thrown a bunch of consecitive incompletions, with about three or four minutes remaining. The Huskies turned it over on downs and Wake Forest promptly walked into the endzone from the 6 yard line to score the final touchdown.
The score was 17-13 at that point. Edsall made a stupid call there. He should have punted and hoped the defense could cause a fumble or else limit the Deacons to a quick three and out. Then there would still be enough time left to do a two minute drill. But going for it and failing there handed the game over on a silver platter.

Indiana's coach, Terry Hoeppner, had surgery for a brain tumor this past week. Surely their minds are on anything except football. Prayers go out to the Hoeppner family and the Indiana team.
UConn should be able to beat the Hoosiers, but that was the case in this week's game as well. By the way, anyone know if the Big Ten ever lost to two I-AA schools in the same year before?

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I hurt your wittle feelings? You lost to USF, again, this time at your place. Deal with it you lost. The qb put 300 yards on you in the air. UCF also had to make several comebacks. You lost to USF. You lost to USF. You lost to USF. lmfao lmfao

LOL, how does that make you feel knowing that you lost to them? lmfao
How about just taking your medicine like a MAN AND JUST SHUTUP. OK?

Unless the "criticism" includes accusing a team of "laying down". I doubt any team in this league does that in any game they play.

what do you expect, they made excuses even last year when we rolled them, sad thing is this was their best chance to beat us w/ our youth and missing our top 2 rb's, next year's game will probably be a blowout in tampa. like i keep saying keep the games going, but on our own terms, 2-1 or 5-3.

Connecticut fans do not need to talk trash like this. Be classy. A loss is a loss, and this was a ridiculous loss. The final score is the only thing that counts at the end of the day. Just like SF Husky and Lolly Popp pointed out above, the Huskies made a ton of mistakes that good teams simply do not commit.
I have faith that Coach Edsall and the staff will work on these things to make sure they do not continue to happen, but right now there is a lot of room for reflection. As far as ACC fans coming on here and talking trash about the Big East, the overall head to head results are the only answer necessary.

There is a world of difference between getting your ass kicked by the #1 team in the country and laying down, at home, against Michigan State. Come on BJunk you oughta know better then that. I'm the first one notto jump on someone after what happened to UC, but I'm not going to curl into the fetal position and not hand out criticism because UC lost. UC losing doesn't mean I can't say anything. That being said, I agree with Shannon, I didn't realize how big Michigan State was at the time I posted that. I mean WOW. That being said I'm not going to apologize to the league, that is weak. UC was a young, undermanned team playing the team favored to win the national title, why would I apologize for UC playing tough but eventually being worn down?

Did you watch the game? Did Pitt really "lay down"? Maybe Michigan State is that good?

I didn't mean to rip you guys, I was just frustrated to. I had you guys winning the Michigan State game and moving into the Top 25. We need Pitt on the national scene. Good luck the rest of the way!

Give me a break BJUnk, you act more insulted then the Pitt fan. I already apologized to Pitt, I don't know why you're so bent out of shape about it. But next time you accuse someone of not playing to win you remember that comment. I could easily say that everyone plays to win if I wanted to take it out of context.

Cat's Claw, I'm NOT bent out of shape, but do disagree with your assertion that Pitt laid down. And as a UC fan, since we got schooled by them the week before, ragging on Pitt doesn't seem right to me.
Not saying you can't, but I'll express my opinion on it too.
Maybe my wording sounded like I was bent out of shape. Next time I'll bring out the smilies
Plus, by stating "what right does...", maybe I was sounding like some sort of cop. My bad Claw...
I'm in fact relaxed, as my smilie will show: :drinky2:
