Matt Grothe of USF is putting up great numbers...leading all freshmen in totall offense and completion %....also third in the conference is passing behind Brohm and Palko...Looks like this kid can really play and USF may have finally found there QB

-- If the kid keeps it up...I think he'll win this award easily...anyone else have a freshman or two putting up some good #s?

Syracuse has two stars emerging

RB Delone Carter and WR Mike Williams but right now they are both second stringers.

Safety Latarrius Thomas and DE Peanut Whitehead are both playing, and playing pretty well, as true FR for UofL right now. Neither one is at a position that is going to win a FR award however, unless there is a separate one for the FR defensive player of the year.

At this time I would agree. If Grothe can play like he did in the UCF game he'd get my vote. He was really good for a youngster! I loved it. Go Bulls! (except when UofL drills you this year.)

Well since we are going to get drilled anyways I hope we stomp on your logo :)

Haven't teams learned not to mess with the Bird?

What is the word on Brohm...is he going to be back for west virginia?

I think USF found a good one in Grothe... that being said.. with no pass rush... and 5 to 6 seconds for recievers to get open and terrible coverage down field UCF can make anyone look good. 03-weeping

Word among the insiders is that Brohm will be back in 3-4 weeks which would be in plenty of time for the WVU game. My guess is he is back by the UC game the week before.
