BC vs VT, Who to root for?
Is it wrong to root for a natural disaster? 05-stirthepot I am pulling for VT, at least they are in the geographic footprint of the ACC.

Is it possible to root for both teams to lose?

Very unimpressive effort so far for both teams.

Tech is well below last season on offense. Of course what can I say about BC, you've gotten 4 Hokie turnovers but that's only translated into 13 points!

Unfortunately the natural disaster most Rutgers fans were banking on didn't happen.

I think Frank Beamer is trying to give John L. Smith some competition for the title of Mr. September.

Ouch!!!

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit basically BLASTED Va Tech for the entire 4th Quarter!!!

Ripping on the team's individual attitudes, yelling at each other on the bench, all the dumb personal foul penalties, etc...

Heck...Kirk was on such a roll...when the BC Band was playing Boston's favorite Neal Diamond songs that the students were signing during the 4th Q...ESPN showed how one Va Tech Defensive Player, while the score was 20-3 BC...was DANCING to the music while ON the field!!!

Can't recall Kirk ever ripping a program for 20-30 mins straight like he did last night in the 4th Q.

It did make for GREAT entertainment!!

Remember, BC can only host one weeknight home game every 4 years (town of Newton puts restrictions on BC for games held during the week).

Va Tech hosted more Thursday Night ESPN Games while in the Big East vs any other team in the Nation.

Va Tech did host BC on Thursday Night, Sept 7, 1995....and also had another weekday game on National TV vs BC on Friday, Nov 26, 1999.

BC Band and students were fun to watch during the 4th Q...too bad they won't be able to host another Thursday Night (or other weeknight game) till 2010!

Ouch!

Tech and Watson (the player) deserved it last night. The ONLY thing Herbie said that wasn't true, along with his co-broadcaster, was that it was "uncharacteristic" of Tech and their program. If it's been same old same old as far as arrests, thug players on and off the field, etc for a good half decade, that's not uncharacteristic anymore.

They really even contradicted themselves by saying things have been different since Vick left, yet called it uncharacteristic. At some point, it becomes the norm for the program, and Tech is long past that point. I just like that they finallly got called to the carpet on national TV. The last half hour of the game was a infomercial of horror for any self respecting Tech fan.

The only things left in that Tech "lunchpail" is a 5th of whiskey for dinner, keys to drive afterwords, a 9mm, and picture instructions (words are too tough) on how to hit the opponent out of bounds 3 seconds after the play ends.

I prefer VT to BC. However I was cheering for BC so VT would drop in the rankings further opening the door for PITT.

What will really happen is that BC will take VT's spot in the top 25, just a few spots lower.

BC has beaten VT on Thursday night twice. The last time was 1996, I think. Does that qualify?

That is probably true, but a team falling out should bring you a little closer. It might even open the door for USF to get votes if they roll this weekend.

Let them keep knocking themselves out . BC will be at FSU next week. So you could see FSU sneak back in at the expense of BC should they beat them. I want BC vs Georgia Tech for the ACC championship. The Gator Bowl would love that match up

Damn....I was hoping the field would open up and swallow up both teams but it didn't happen. Guess I'll just have to wait for some enemy, foreign or domestic, to wipe that sh*t hole Cherry Hill off the map. Then I'll celebrate....Perhaps the Irish can visit BC and we can get a 2 for 1 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana
